No Passport Zone

Today, Bernard introduced me to his latest crag development.

About 10 minutes out of Al Ain, on the west side of the road between the Saniya cement factory and the Mezyad border road is the "No Passport Zone".

It's a very Wonder-Wall-esque ridge with afternoon shade and lots of route potential.

To date, Bernard has bolted 1 pitch of a 3 pitch project and put up 2 sets of top rope anchors, 1 of which we bolted today.

It's an excellent after-work crag for the Al Ain climbing community (all 4 of us are very excited) with an easy approach from the small parking area next to the road.

Will keep you posted.Project starts left of the big crack

"The Play Pen" - Project starts left of picture, continues up slab in top left - Top rope anchors on short slab in center and bigger slab on right - Bernard has big plans for the recessed area in the center

Comments:
As to big plans for the recessed area in the center: it looks ready for loading on a truck for sea defences on the palm or is the camera angle not showing the crag in the best perspective?
